Football practice is underway around the area as teams prepare for the coming season.

Teams participated in traditional workouts and in 7-on-7 competitions last week during the first full week of practices following the KHSAA dead period.

The preseason will continue with practices, camps and scrimmages leading up to the season openers next month:

– Danville opens Aug. 23 against East Jessamine at West Jessamine.

– Boyle County opens Aug. 24 against Lexington Christian at Western Kentucky University.
