• The City of Perryville will be having their regular Council Meeting on September 7 at City Hall at 7 p.m.  All are welcome.

• Boyle County Fire Department has issued a burn ban until further notice, due to extreme dry conditions.

• The Tim Lake concert scheduled for Sept. 5 in Perryville has been postponed to September 28 in Perryville.

• The Empowered Aging Expo will be Sunday, Sept. 10 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at The Showroom in Danville. This is a free resource event connecting people with services to support successful aging. It’s sponsored by GeriActive, AgeWell Senior Services, and Ephraim McDowell Health.

• The Third Street Methodist Church, located at Third and Walnut streets in Danville will hold revival services Sunday, Sept. 10 throughout Thursday at 7 p.m. each night. Dwight Coffman will be the evangelist. Everyone is welcome.

There will be Special Music every night and is scheduled as follows:

Sunday – Danny Gilliam – A love offering for the Danville Helping Hands Ministry will be received.

Monday – Melissa Goode

Tuesday – Wayne Hines

Wednesday – Julia Fuqua, a Senior from Burgin High School

Thursday – The Third Street Choir

• Heritage Hospice, Inc. will host a New Volunteer Training on Saturday, September 16 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Heritage Hospice Office, 120 Enterprise Drive, Danville, KY.

Volunteer opportunities include clerical work, patient visits, fundraising and special events.  Change your life by becoming a Heritage Hospice volunteer.  Contact Volunteer Services Coordinator, Renee Bibler, at 859-236-2425.  The deadline to register is Monday, September 11, 2023.  Wendy Hellard, Director of Volunteer Services.

• The AAUW Bluegrass Central invites women (and men) to its annual Meet-N-Greet on Wednesday, Sept. 27, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Woodford County Library, 115 N. Main St., Versailles.

AAUW (American Association of University Women) engages with a diverse group of members and organizations to explore common interests affecting our community.  The Bluegrass Central Branch has members from Anderson, Fayette, Franklin, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Scott, and Woodford counties, and even a long-distance member from New Zealand!  Come meet us and learn about the issues that affect equity for women and girls in our ever-changing world.
