Water line repairs in Junction City
JUNCTION CITY — The City of Danville Water Distribution Department will be conducting necessary valve repairs in the Junction City area beginning Monday, Feb. 20 at 9 p.m.
The following streets will be without water throughout the repair process and until all repairs are made: East Shelby Street, Third Street, and Trisler Lane. Customers living on those streets will be under a boil water advisory once service is restored until further notice. If you have any questions, contact the water plant at (859) 238-1241.
Elliott co-chair on ed subcommittee
On Feb. 14, state Rep. Daniel Elliot was confirmed as co-chair of the Kentucky House Statutory Committee on Education, Assessment & Accountability Review Subcommittee that convenes in Frankfort.
The subcommittee is largely charged with advising the Kentucky Board of Education and overseeing the Office of Education.
Elliott is the state representative for Boyle and Casey counties.
U.S. 68 bridge replacement in Mercer begins Monday
Work will begin Monday, Feb. 20, on the U.S. 68 bridge replacement project. The location for the bridge replacement will be on U.S. 68 over Shaker Creek. This is 0.019 miles west of Chatham Road (CR-1113).
Kay & Kay Contracting LLC was awarded the project for $596,875.
The anticipated completion date for the bridge replacement is Thursday, July 13.
The new bridge will provide an increased load-carrying capacity. The existing bridge was built in 1922 and is a 22’ concrete slab. It was widened in 1964.
The traveling public will be informed of impacts to traffic through advisories furnished to media outlets. The construction will have minimal effects for motorists.
