The Boyle County boys finished fourth Friday at the KHSAA State Swimming and Diving Championships in Lexington, with Boyle swimmers earning top-three finishes in four events and posting times worthy of All-America consideration in three events.

Four Boyle boys earned seven medals in six events in the competition at Lancaster Aquatic Center in Lexington.

Clark Coyle was named to the all-state team after finishing as a state runner-up in the 100 butterfly, finishing third in the 100 backstroke – he set a school record in that event – and teaming with Ethan Gover, Beau Bostick and Luke Hamon for a third-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay.

Boyle’s times in all three events met the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association standards for consideration for All-America awards, which will be announced this summer.

Gover, Bostick, Coyle and Hamon also finished as state runners-up in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a school-record time.

Gover also finished fifth and Hamon was sixth in the 100 freestyle, and Hamon was sixth in the 200 freestyle.

Boyle girls relay teams competed in two consolation finals and Ivy Sadler of Danville swam in one Saturday.

The Boyle girls finished 13th in the 400 freestyle relay and 14th in the 200 medley relay, and Sadler was 14th in the 100 breaststroke.
