David Allen Bibb, 84 of Danville died on March 28, 2024. Born on October 29, 1939, in Jessamine County to the late Marvin Tinsley and Blanche Dean Bibb. He was a 1957 graduate of Danville High School. David was a dedicated employee of The Kroger Company for an impressive 33 years and 3 months with the majority of those years as store manager in both Danville and Harrodsburg before his retirement on May 1, 1999.
A devout member and former deacon of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church, he was deeply involved in the church community. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Danville Country Club for 40 years. Family and friends were an important part of David’s life and he never hesitated to lend help in a time of need. He had a unique sense of humor and a giving spirit and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
David is survived by his wife of 62 years Elizabeth Potter Bibb, his son Michael Allen (Melissa) Bibb, grandchildren Matthew Allen (Madeline) Bibb, Miles Evans Bibb, Elizabeth Claire Bibb, great-grandson Henry Allen Bibb, as well as his brothers Gayle (Phyllis) Bibb, Ronald (Becky) Bibb, Donald (Cheryl) Bibb and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., April 3, 2024, at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church with Rev Basil Hall and Dr. Tommy Valentine. Visitation will be 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., followed by the Funeral Service and burial in Bellevue Cemetery.
