Man arrested after stabbing incident at Millenium Park

Danville Police along with emergency crews responded to the skate park at Millennium Park in Danville for a stabbing on Thursday, April 25 at 3:44 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers located the victim, 30-year-old Levi Cook of Stanford. Cook was suffering from a single stab wound to the lower back. Other parties on scene quickly pointed out the suspect, 32-year-old Justin Green of Junction City. Green was immediately detained by Danville Police.
During the course of the investigation, officers determined that a physical altercation had broken out between several individuals. During the altercation, Green produced a folding knife with a three inch blade and proceeded to stab Cook.
The knife was located hidden under the front seat of a vehicle that was on scene. Cook was transported by Boyle County EMS to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, and was later flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for further treatment.
Green was arrested and charged with assault 1st degree and tampering with physical evidence. Danville Police are continuing the investigation, and were assisted at the scene by Boyle County EMS, Danville City Fire, and the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office.
