Johnson wins local primary race for Commonwealth’s Attorney

Boyle County voters have chosen Justin Johnson to serve as the Republican candidate for Commonwealth’s Attorney for the 50th Judicial Circuit in the November general election.
Johnson got 72.74% of the vote in Boyle County against candidate Sarah Bryant, who got 27.26% of the vote. The office serves as the lead prosecutor for felony cases in Boyle and Mercer counties.
Raised in Forkland, Johnson graduated from Boyle County High School and attended the University of Kentucky for his undergraduate degree and law school. He then served as Assistant Boyle County Attorney, then moved into private practice as a defense attorney. Now living in Danville, Johnson is currently the Assistant Commonwealth’s attorney.
According to the Boyle County Clerk’s Office, the total voter turnout in Boyle County was a little over 10% with 2,487 total ballots cast.
