Anna Sparrow, a rising senior at Danville High School, has been chosen as one of only 40 finalists from 14 states nationwide to participate in this year’s Songbook Academy summer intensive, hosted by none other than five-time GRAMMY nominee Michael Feinstein and the esteemed Great American Songbook Foundation.
This program, dedicated to cultivating emerging vocalists and their appreciation for the 20th century foundational era of American popular music, offers an unparalleled opportunity for young artists to hone their craft under the guidance of Broadway stars, entertainment industry professionals and top university educators.
As part of this exciting journey, Anna will be showcasing their talent in three captivating events this summer, providing an opportunity for supporters to cheer them on, either in person or via livestream:
- Public Masterclass (free): 10 randomly selected participants will have the chance to perform and receive invaluable feedback from Michael Feinstein and a special guest mentor.
- Songbook Showcase (free for online viewers) – July 18, 7 p.m. ET: Watch Anna and their fellow finalists shine as they each take the spotlight to perform selected songs.
- Songbook Academy in Concert (Paid Event) – July 20, 7 p.m. ET: Hosted by Michael Feinstein himself, this event will showcase the growth and talent of all 40 participants through solo and ensemble performances.
