Schroeder signs with Alice Lloyd

Mason Schroeder admits he’s never been an offensive threat, but the Danville senior has excelled in the field.
And that’s why he recently signed with Alice Lloyd College, in Pippa Passes. Schroeder was also considering Asbury University, University of Pikeville, Midway College and Cincinnati Christian School.
“One of the main factors that drew me in was the size of the school,” Schroeder said. “I come from a small school and will feel very comfortable transitioning to a college with a similar population.”
Schroeder was voted Rookie of the Year as a freshman, and he’s received the Golden Glove as an outfielder the last two seasons. In fact, his fielding abilities were so on point, he didn’t commit an error during his junior year.
The Admirals will open their season Friday at Pulaski County before hosting Washington County on Monday.
Schroeder said having his college choice done before the season “takes a lot of weight off my shoulders.”
“It will give me time to focus and enjoy my senior year and not be distracted by college recruiting me and having to make a decision by the end of the year,” he added.
Schroeder plans to major in Sports Management and stick close to the sport after graduation by becoming a baseball coach.
“I have a true passion for sports, and to be able to study a field that focuses on the business attributes of sports really caught my eye when I was looking at potential majors,” he said.
The Eagles are an NAIA school.
