Free addiction course offered
Danville Seventh-Day Adventist is offering the 12-step addiction program, Living Free, beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, July 14 and will continue weekly at the church, located at 104 Man O’War Drive.
Habits are friends when they are good ones. But bad habits can become chains that hold us captive. Once a habit has hijacked the brain, is there any way of escape? Living Free examines how addictions work, and outlines practical keys for breaking bad habits.
The Living Free seminar is a free Bible-based 12-part program built on the principles of traditional 12-step initiatives but adding the pivotal component of transforming faith in Jesus Christ. Conducted in 12 convenient sessions it includes interactive Bible studies, powerful testimonies, video interviews and more.
Breathe Free program at church
Danville Seventh-Day Adventist church is having a six-week Breathe Free program that focuses on discovering the necessary tools to live smoke free, and help you improve your entire lifestyle through nutritional, physical activities and with scientifically proven methods to succeed. You will learn how to manage each step in your quit smoking program which is designed around group discussions and informative videos. The Breathe Free program will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday beginning July 18 and run on July 20, 25, 27, Aug. 1 and 3 a the church located at 104 Man O’War Drive.
Community Outreach event with Backyard Ministries
Danville First Church of God Backyard Ministries is having a free event for families in need from 7-9 p.m. Friday, July 14. There will be inflatables, and participants need to bring a towel for water events. The church is located at 3220 Harrodsburg Road. Anyone who has a need is invited to come for free food, fun and fellowship. Free gift bags will be given to each family and there will be limited quantity of free children’s clothing for families in need. For more information call (859) 236-4700.
