1937-2017

Kenneth Lyle Larson, 79, was born in Miami, Florida on December 26, 1937, and died peacefully in his sleep at Emory Saint Joseph Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, on June 21, 2017.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and held a Masters of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University.

Ken married the late Mary Sterlyn Davis in 1962 and raised their two children in Georgia, Texas and South Florida.

Ultimately relocating to Atlanta in the late 1980s, he co-owned and operated Atlantic Home Remodeling. Ken took great pride in helping restore and maintain historical homes in Southeast Atlanta and in helping the less fortunate have a higher quality of life.

He is survived by his spouse, Linda (Clinton) Larson; daughter, Maria Kristine Layport (Kenny) of Danville, Ky.; son, Lyle David Larson (Sarah) of Vestavia Hills, Ala.; step-son, LaVarne Cobb; grandsons, Travis, Dustin and Luke Layport; granddaughters, Mary Alexandra and Kaitlin Mae Larson; and step-granddaughter, Makayla Alexis Cobb.
