Boil water advisory lifted
The Danville Water Department lifted the boil water advisory for all of Stanford Road at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday.
Mercer Neighborhood Watch meetings announced
HARRODSBURG — The Mercer County Sheriffs Office has been providing annual Neighborhood Watch/Town Hall meetings for many years in cooperation with Mercer County Crime Stoppers, Hometown Radio and local fire chiefs.
The next two meetings will be 7-9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2 at the Dixville Fire Department, 2470 New Dixville Road and Tuesday Oct. at Shakertown Fire Department, 3318 Shakertown Road.
During these meetings, attendees will receive handouts and information on: formation of neighborhood watch groups; terrorism; family disaster preparedness; preparing an emergency kit; CPR, first aid and the Heimlich maneuver; surviving an active shooter situation; community lighting and completing a security checklist; personal property identification; completing a home security checklist; firearms responsibility in the home; importance of obtaining detailed vehicle and suspect descriptions; what to do if stopped by law enforcement; identity theft; senior scams; cybersecurity and sextortion; drug abuse; human trafficking and the registered sex offender compliance program.

John W. Bate Middle School SBDM — 5 p.m. tonight (Wednesday) for a special called meeting in the school library.
Danville-Boyle County African-American Historical Society — 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3 at the Danville campus of EKU. Among topics on the agenda will be a proposed driving tour of African American sites in Boyle County.
