Betty Gerdes English

1931-2018

Betty Gerdes English, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born on July 7, 1931 in Illinois and was the daughter of William and Myrtle Gerdes. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved working jigsaw puzzles, reading, doing handwork, UK basketball and especially her grandchildren. Betty is survived by her husband of 69 years, Raymond; 1 daughter, Cynthia (Billy) Kirkpatrick of Moreland; 1 son, Gary (Paul) English of Danville; 2 grandchildren: Billy (Michaelena) Kirkpatrick and Melaney Martin; 3 great grandchildren, Kennedy and Tate Kirkpatrick and Brady Martin; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Services will at 2 pm Tuesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home with Chaplain Brad King officiating. Visitation is from 5-9 pm Monday. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.
