Brandon Long, creative director with the Community Arts Center, will be writing a blog throughout the duration of his trip to Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland.
Long was the chosen local artist to participate in an exchange program through the Sister Cities Commission, and will spend May 12-26 overseas, and will participate in a large mural creation.
“We will be creating a mural on the theme of ‘Community’ alongside students with special needs in the Castle Tower School, a new state-of-the-art facility,” Long said. “We’ve collected images of their drawings and are compiling them into one big scene. They’ll help us paint a mural they can be proud of for years to come.”
As long as time permits, Long plans on updating the blog daily over the course of his stay. To keep up with Long’s Carrickfergus adventures, visit artofbrandonlong.wordpress.com/an-artist-abroad.
