News release
HARRODSBURG — For the first time, the Relay for Life of Boyle and Mercer counties are joining together to form one larger event on Saturday, Aug. 25.
Hundreds of Danville and Harrodsburg residents are expected to join together at the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Boyle-Mercer event at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25 at the Campbellsville University Harrodsburg Education Center. This year’s theme is “Joining Forces”

Following the dinner, cancer survivors will join the public at the Relay For Life of Boyle-Mercer event. This year’s event will include: survivor ceremony, live and silent auction, bounce house and face painting, luminaria ceremony and more. Many Relay For Life teams will also be set up with food and drinks for a donation to American Cancer Society.
Relay For Life of Boyle-Mercer is a free, family friendly community event that celebrates local cancer survivors, remembers those who have passed away from the disease and allows the community to fight back against cancer.
Money raised will go to support the American Cancer Society’s efforts to save lives by helping people stay well and get well, and by finding cures and fighting back against cancer. This year the American Cancer Society is funding $405 million in 755 cancer research grants across the United States. In Kentucky, ACS is funding 13 research grants totaling $7.2 million.
