Speaker will discuss air, water pollution in the state
The Women’s Network will present Tom FitzGerald, director of the Kentucky Resources Council, 7 p.m. Sept. 11, in the community room of Inter-County Energy, 1009 Hustonville Road.
The meeting will focus on air and water pollution problems in Kentucky. FitzGerald is Kentucky’s foremost environmental advocate urging the state government to curb pollution as it adversely affects human health as well as environmental impacts generally.

Cruise-in at McDowell Place of Danville
McDowell Place of Danville will host the seventh annual Frank Lawson Memorial Cruise-in on Sunday, Sept. 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration is free. Trophies will be awarded for residents’ choice to the top five cars. Dash plaques will be given to all participants and concessions will be available. All proceeds go to Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
