The couple married on April 30, 1969 in Bardstown.

They have four children, Jim Gorley of Louisville, Brian Gorley of Danville, Megan Gorley of Frankfort and Matthew Gorley of Gravel Switch; and 10 grandchildren, Katherine King, Gabe Vanhoose, Zara Vanhoose, Ella Gorley, Emma Gorley, Elijah Gorley, Merica Gorley, Max Gorley, Matilda Gorley and Sam Gorley.
