1926-2019

Paul Elwood “Peg” Johnson, 92, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2019. He was born October 1, 1926, in Boyle County, a son of the late Jesse Alexander and Rogie Daugherty Johnson. He was the husband of the late Lola Edwards Johnson and was a member of the Forkland Community for many years.

Mr. Johnson was a member of Sycamore Church of Christ in Forkland and was a former custodian at the Forkland School. He was a member of the Forkland Community Center and enjoyed riding his four-wheeler with his dog, Jack.

Survivors include four children, Paula (Sam) Edmiston, Jessica (Robbie) Montgomery, Janice (John) Coursey, Roger (Maggie) Johnson; five grandchildren, Amanda Lee Johnson, Gracie Edmiston, Caleb Edmiston, Cody Kondik, Emma Kondik; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Barbara Engle and Betty Kolb.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by seven siblings, Margaret Ellis, J.A. Johnson, Jr., Terry, LeRoy, Tom Johnson, Ethel Wilson and Bea Lane.

Graveside funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Elder Cemetery in Casey County officiated by Bro. Mark Russell. Visitation will be 4 – 9:00 p.m., Monday September 9, 2019 at Walden Funeral Home Perryville.

Pallbearers will be Caleb Edmiston, Cody Kondik, Tony Dunsmore, Neal Johnson, Clay Sweeney, Mike Hays, Alex Johnson, Jim Kolb, Steve Brashear and Barry Brashear.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Forkland Community Center or Heritage Hospice.
