DBCHS Pets of the week, September 11
Published 8:33 pm Tuesday, September 10, 2019
This week our featured pets are Zander and Wolf.
Zander is a darling 5-month-old kitten. He is a solid blue-gray in color except for a small white patch on the front of his chest. Zander was a stray and he was a little shy and timid when he first came to the humane society. But, after a few days he started to become more relaxed and understand that people are his friends. Zander is such a handsome fellow and he is ready for a fresh start in his forever home.
Wolf is a cool-looking 1-and-a-half-year-old Husky mix. His owner was no longer able to care for him and brought him to the humane society to find a loving home. Wolf is long-legged, lanky and has an awesome pair of ears. He is friendly and energetic. Wolf is looking for an adopter who has the time to take him on long walks or has a nice fenced yard for play time. Come for a visit and see if Wolf could be your forever friend.
This Saturday at 12:30 p.m. is our monthly DBCHS obedience class. The class is held inside the service department at the Stuart Powell Ford Dealership on the 127 Danville Bypass. The class is free for those who have adopted from a shelter or rescue. Others are welcome to attend for a small donation to the Humane Society. Space is limited so please pre-register by Friday at noon. You may email dbchs@bellsouth.net or call the Humane Society at (859) 238-1117 to sign up. We hope to see you on Saturday!
PetSmart Charities is sponsoring a National Adoption Event this weekend. The Danville-Boyle County Humane Society will be participating at our adoption center at the Brannon Crossing PetSmart on Hwy 27 just north of Nicholasville. The event will feature many adorable kitties, puppies and dogs in need of loving forever homes. Come and visit some of our adoptable dogs at PetSmart in Brannon Crossing on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you are considering adding a new pet to your family, this will be the perfect opportunity to find your new best friend.
Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment. Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
