Indivisible Danville participating in call for impeachment

At 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13, Indivisible Danville will host a rally as part of a nationwide action to demand Congress impeach President Trump. 

The rally, called a Citizen Call for Accountability, will occur at the Boyle County Courthouse. The group says anyone interested in sending Kentucky’s elected representatives the message that it is time for accountability is encouraged to attend.

The nationwide action is organized by Indivisible, By the People, MoveOn and several other national and state organizations. The rally is being held for communities to come together to say it’s time for an America that values the voices and rights of all people, and a government that works for all Americans.

Free health screenings Oct. 26

 Ephraim McDowell Health is sponsoring a free health screening on Oct. 26 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Danville and will be offered from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.  Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are recommended. Appointments can be made by calling (859) 319-2279 after 4 p.m. between Oct. 19 and 25.

Health screenings that will be offered are cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, heart rate, body mass index and stroke risk scorecard. Flu shots will also be available (ages 12 -17 must be accompanied by a custodial parent of guardian).  After the screenings are complete, participants will have the opportunity to discuss their results with a licensed health professional.

 Participants should not eat 12 hours prior to their screening if they would like to have the blood test that gives them a full lipid panel.  This gives the participant detailed information including their HDL, LDL, triglycerides and glucose. Medications except for diabetic medications may be taken with water.

The screenings are open to the public for anyone 18 years of age and older.
