Thankful for hard work of Inter-County in these times

Just a note to express my thanks to Inter-County for their prompt response to the many outages that occurred on April 9.
As you may be aware, our repeater located on Tennessee Ridge Road was knocked out during the storm. This outage was compounded by the fact that our backup generator failed to function. This meant that Boyle County Sheriff’s Office, Boyle County EMS, and Boyle County Fire Department could not communicate with our E911 Dispatch Center. We were able to switch to another repeater that gave us spotty coverage, at best. I can’t remember ever witnessing as many Inter-County service trucks on the highways of Boyle County at 2:30 a.m. I was able to talk to at least two of the service men, who gave me a detailed report of progress and possible time frame for being back on line.
In these most difficult times for everyone, I am sure glad I got you all on my side. Please pass on my thanks to the guys who worked the outage.
Stay safe.

Director of Boyle County Emergency Management
