Juvenile suspect in custody after reportedly firing weapon at motorists

On Saturday, Feb. 13 at 12:26 p.m., the Danville Police Department responded to a report that a subject had fired a weapon at passing motorists. Officers arrived on scene and canvassed the area. After speaking with witnesses, a suspect was identified. The suspect was located inside an apartment at Long Run Community Apartments. A 17-year-old male juvenile was taken into custody on charges of wanton endangerment first degree, receiving stolen property, and possession of a handgun by a minor. Investigators determined that the juvenile fired the Glock pistol in a highly populated area of East Main. The weapon had been reported stolen and was located and seized by police.
