State police running traffic checkpoints in area

RICHMOND — Kentucky State Police will be conducting traffic checkpoints in area counties.
During the traffic checkpoints, KSP will be paying special attention to occupant protection (seatbelt adherence), sobriety, insurance and registration violations, according to a release from KSP.
The KSP website says the safety checkpoints are conducted in locations that are experiencing a high ratio of accidents resulting in injury or death.
Traffic checkpoints will occur at the following locations:
Boyle County
• Old U.S. 127 at Airport Road
• Ky. 37, four miles south of Junction City
Garrard County
• Ky. 954 at Cooper Creek
• Ky. 1295 at Madison and Garrard County line
• U.S. 27 at Gilberts Creek
Lincoln County
• Ky. 39 at US 150
• Ky. 501 at Angle Ridge
• Ky. 198 at KY 698
