The Danville Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance Thursday night at Shakerpoint Apartments on Shakerpoint Drive.
Officers learned of a verbal argument that led to Damien Hart, 36, of Danville, pushing a female causing her to fall.
During the altercation Hart armed himself with a .22-caliber revolver. He reportedly did not point the weapon at the woman, but did threaten to shoot her if police were called. The victim said that Hart dropped the gun during the argument causing it to discharge.
Hart fled the scene in a vehicle and police were notified. Officers found that one .22-caliber round had been discharged and went through the glass back door of the apartment in the direction of another apartment building. No injuries were reported and police did not find that the discharged round had struck another building.
Officers canvased the area but were unable to locate Hart. He was later found to have returned to the apartment around 12:15 a.m. Officers encountered him in the parking lot, sitting in his vehicle. He was ordered to get out of the vehicle and was then taken into custody.
A revolver and marijuana were found in Hart’s vehicle. Officers also learned that Hart was a convicted felon. He was arrested and taken into custody and was lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center.
Hart was charged with Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Assault 4th Degree (domestic violence) Minor Injury, Terroristic Threatening 3rd Degree, Disorderly Conduct 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon.
