Kentucky Attorney General and republican candidate for governor Daniel Cameron visited Dry Stack Coffee on March 30 to deliver a speech to his supporters and listen to their issues. In his speech to the crowd, Cameron said that he wanted to represent all Kentuckians.

“Kentucky needs a governor who reflects the values of men, woman and children of all 120 counties,” Cameron said. “There is a lot at stake in this election. Our identify is a stake, our future is at stake, we can not afford four more years of Andy Beshear in office. Democratic leadership over these last few years has lead to higher crime rates in our cities, lockdowns and shutdowns, vaccine mandates being threatened in our communities, big banks and big government joining forces to destroy our coal industry and natural gas industry, the unborn being threatened at every turn, our law enforcement being demoralized, and having concerns over our schools curriculum being you labeled a domestic terrorism.”

Cameron said Kentucky needs a governor who can make hard decisions.

“I hope you can pick a candidate not based on ads but on records,” Cameron said. “Over the last three years I have been trying to stand up for your values. When Governor Beshear tried to shut down churches, we went to federal court and had them reopened in nine days.”

Cameron went on to cite his cases as attorney general including abortion, vaccine mandates and the opioid epidemic as examples of his willingness to fight for Kentucky values.

With medical marijuana slated to become legal in 2025, Cameron is in favor of the program, but he wants to ensure that it is done the right way.

“My perspective is that there is a study being conducted by the University of Kentucky, I want to see what it says,” he said. “I also want to ensure that our law enforcement would be on board, If it is regulated that law enforcement is OK with it, I would be all for it.”
