Casey grand jury hands up indictments on 13
The following people were indicted by a Casey County grand jury on May 14:
• Michael Morris Kennedy, 52, Hustonville: theft of services by tampering with a meter belonging to Inter-County Energy Cooperative taking electric service valued between $500 and $10,000. No bail was set, summon was served. Casey County Sheriff Jerry Coffman testified.
• Bobby Russell Martin, 40, Paducah: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was same as in district court case. Geoff Brown with the CCSO testified.
• Joseph W. Cooper, 19: theft by unlawful taking of a generator valued between $500 and $10,000. Bail was set at $2,500 cash for all charges. Jayson Grider with the Liberty Police Department testified. First-degree possession of a controlled substance, meth. Doug Tarter with the LPD testified. Also, trafficking in a controlled substance, meth; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana; third-degree possession of a controlled substance; no driver’s license; no registration; no or expired registration plates; no liability insurance; menacing; resisting arrest. Ronnie Smith with the Liberty Police Department testified.
• Dennis Keith Davis, 32, Windsor: receiving stolen property (2005 Hyundai car) valued between $500 and $10,000. Bail was set at $2,500 cash or property. Adam Likins with the Kentucky State Police testified.
• Joel “Jody” Everett York, 36, 2601 East Ky. 70: first-degree assault; two counts second-degree persistent felony offender; first-degree wanton endangerment; first-degree possession of a controlled substance, meth; driving under the influence of intoxicants third offense; driving on a suspended or revoked license. Bail was set at $10,000 cash or secure property. Chad Weddle with the CCSO testified.
• Joseph Luke Wethington, 36, 2551 Possum Trot Road: possession of a handgun by a convicted felon; first-degree possession of a controlled substance, meth; second-degree possession of a controlled substance; reckless driving; no liability insurance; no driver’s license. Bail is same as in district court case; Weddle testified.
• Jeffrey M. McQueary, 44, 1439 Dry Ridge Road: kidnapping; first-degree unlawful imprisonment; fourth-degree assault. Bail was set at $10,000 cash only. Weddle testified.
• Nicholas Chad Turpin, 26, Hustonville: second-degree burglary; theft by unlawful taking or disposition of property worth between $500 and $10,000; second-degree criminal mischief; receiving stolen property, firearm; first-degree possession of a controlled substance, meth; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana. Bail was set at $15,000 cash or secured property. Weddle testified.
• Courtney Nicole Turpin, 29, Lancaster: second-degree burglary; theft by unlawful taking or disposition of property worth between $500 and $10,000; receiving stolen property, firearm. Bail was continued from district court case. Weddle testified.
• Hubert Preston Skipper III, 50, Gravel Switch: receiving stolen property worth between $500 and $10,000; first-degree persistent felony offender. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only. Weddle testified.
• Robert Douglas Young, 33, Magnolia: first-degree bail jumping; first-degree persistent felony offender. No bond set. Dennis Allen as the Commonwealth’s detective testified.
• James L. Jones, 38, Willisburg: first-degree bail jumping; second-degree persistent felony offender. No bond was set. Allen testified.
• Richard Eugene Brown, 49, 176 Carmicle St.: first-degree bail jumping; first-degree persistent felony offender. No bond was set. Allen testified.
