Retired Southern Baptist minister Morris Trayner has made his spacious backyard on Cloverdale Drive, “A little touch of Heaven,” says his wife Roberta. On Wednesday, Trayner looks over the large Lord Baltimore Hibiscus that they have been growing for three years, carefully pulling off faded blooms. Trayner said he’s measured some of the blooms and they are nearly 10 inches in diameter and the plant is well over 6 feet tall. It is also a prolific bloomer, he said. Just last week he counted about 100 crimson blooms that were bursting with color.
