DBCHS Pets of the week, Sept. 5
Our featured pets this week are Gentry and River.
Gentry is a beautiful little five-month-old tabby kitten. This sweet girl was brought to the humane society in May when she weighed slightly more than a pound. So Gentry has spent the summer with us, but she is now ready to find her forever family. Gentry has a lovely disposition. She is very outgoing and playful, and she loves to explore. Gentry gets along great with the other cats and she is now living in one of our kitty condos. Gentry is sure to give her lucky adopter many years of love and companionship!
River is an impressive one and a-half-year-old shepherd mix that was surrendered to the shelter because his owner hit hard times and lost her home. He has a friendly demeanor and always greets you with a big smile and wagging tail. River is a smart, alert and attentive boy and he plays nicely with other dogs in the exercise area. If you are looking for a best buddy and handsome sidekick, come for a visit with River and you are sure to want to take him home!
This Saturday at 12:30 p.m. is our monthly DBCHS obedience class. The class is held inside the service department at the Stuart Powell Ford Dealership on the 127 Danville Bypass. The class is free for those who have adopted from a shelter or rescue. Others are welcome to attend for a small donation to the Humane Society. Space is limited so please pre-register by Friday at noon. You may email firstname.lastname@example.org or call the Humane Society at (859) 238-1117 to sign up. We hope to see you on Saturday!
Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment. Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
