Nearly 4,000 people came into Danville Friday night as teams stopped to eat and rest while running the Bourbon Chase 2019 relay race.
The Danville stop for runners, who began at Jim Beam distillery, was Exchange 12 on the race, and was located at Weisiger Park, a designated refueling area for competitors. Danville was also listed as Exchange 17, which meant runners came through again in the wee hours of the morning.
The public was also invited downtown to participate in the party, where giant games of chess, Jenga and Connect Four were set up. There were also cornhole boards, and a bourbon barrel race to keep people having fun on Main Street. And the band PowerPlay performed at the former Cue restaurant.
