The Kentucky School for the Deaf graduating class of 2020 gathered with friends and family, but at a distance, for the school’s drive-in commencement ceremony Friday afternoon.

The festivities began in the Danville Square Shopping Center on Perryville Road when the graduates put on their caps and gowns and families decorated their vehicles for a parade through downtown on their way to the commencement ceremony.

As the parade of graduates drove through campus, horns honked and several teachers,  community supporters, and friends waved from the sidewalks.

It ended on campus in the parking lot in front of the gym where the seniors took their seats and families stayed in their vehicles to watch the unique event.
