Harbeson Family Park in Perryville to receive new decorative marker

During the Perryville City Council meeting on Aug. 3, the council approved the purchase of a new decorative marker for the Harbeson Family Park. The marble marker will be engraved with “Harbeson Family Park, In Honor of Marvin Hope Harbeson.” It will also have an engraved likeness of Marvin Harbeson. The cost of the marker is $500.

The council has begun searching for bids for backup generators for City Hall in case of power failure. ARPA funds will be used to help fund the purchase of the generators.

The council has passed a second reading of the amendment for Ordinance 2009-004 which adds a penalty section to Title 11 Subsection 110.99.

The amendment reads, “Any person violating the provisions of 110.02 by failing to obtain an occupational license shall be guilty of a class B misdemeanor. They shall be fined a minimal of 10 percent of the occupational license fee per day of violation. Each day the violation continues shall constitute a separate offense. Any one violating any provisions where a different fine is not provided may be fined not less than $25 nor more than $100 per each offense.”

The council has begun searching for bids to repave Cox Street, parts of Anderson Street and RL Steet Street.
