Local swimmers advance to state final round

Twelve local swimmers qualified for the final round of the KHSAA State Swimming and Diving Championships in 13 events with their performances Saturday in a first-round section at Louisville.
Swimmers from Boyle County, Danville and Garrard County advanced with their performances in the meet at Ralph Wright Natatorium.
It was one of three first-round meets for which swimmers could qualify for the final rounds Friday and Saturday at Lancaster Aquatic Center in Lexington.
Local qualifiers, with their places in Saturday’s meet:
Boys
200 freestyle – 4. Luke Hamon, Boyle; 11. Beau Bostick, Boyle.
50 freestyle – 3. Ethan Gover, Boyle.
100 butterfly – 2. Clark Coyle, Boyle; 10. Bostick, Boyle.
100 freestyle – 3. Gover, Boyle; 7. Hamon, Boyle.
200 freestyle relay – 2. Boyle (Coyle, Bostick, Hamon, Gover).
100 backstroke – 2. Coyle, Boyle; 10. Cole Hardwick, Garrard; 11. Benjamin Gilbert, Boyle.
400 freestyle relay – 2. Boyle (Gover, Bostick, Coyle, Hamon)
Girls
200 medley relay – 5. Boyle (Nancy Haddad, Maggie Gnann, Kate Hoffman, Hannah Bischoff).
50 freestyle – 8. Abigail Heath, Boyle.
100 butterfly – 10. Hoffman, Boyle.
100 freestyle – 12. Heath, Boyle.
100 breaststroke – 9. Ivy Sadler, Danville.
400 freestyle relay – 3. Boyle (Bischoff, Edie Gover, Hoffman, Heath).
