Garrard’s Graham named to All-State baseball first team

Merrick Graham of Garrard County was named to the Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Association All-State first team.

Graham was the only area player named to the first team, which was announced Monday. He was previously named the 12th Region Player of the Year by the KHSBCA.

Graham was 10-2 with a 1.60 earned-run average and 139 strikeouts in 83 innings for Garrard. He also batted .346 with six doubles, 20 RBIs and 16 stolen bases.

Cameron Owens of Boyle County was named to the All-State second team. Owens hit a team-high .415 for Boyle with one home run, seven doubles, 23 RBIs and 16 stolen bases.
