Martha Kathryn Greer, 86, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025 with her daughter, by her side, holding her hand, at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington. Martha was born September 11, 1938 in Boyle County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Homer and Virgie Baugh and was the widow of Creed Greer.
Martha was a true believer and follower of Jesus Christ. She was a devoted member of Beech Fork Baptist church in Gravel Switch for many years; until Jesus called her home to Heaven. Martha loved her children, family and friends. She loved her Lord and Savior; Jesus Christ and she is missed by all who knew her. She will always be remembered.
Survivors include her daughter Barbara Jane Greer Lanham, sons, Lowell Creed and Joseph Lee Greer, grandson, Johnathan Creed Lanham, granddaughter, Cheyenne Cummins (Brandon) Baselice, great-grandchildren, Johnathan Cameron Lanham, Salem and Jamie Baselice, two sisters, Doris (Jerry) Garrett, Wanda Taylor and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She also leaves behind her beloved fur baby, Lady, aka Toady.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband are siblings Shirely Montgomery Powell, Harold Baugh, and nephews, Jimmy Baugh and Gary Taylor.
The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Walden Funeral Home with Pastors Jeff Sparks and Roger Followell officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be, also at the funeral home from 5-8p.m. Monday February 17, 2025 and from 9 – 11a.m. prior to the funeral on Tuesday.
Pallbearers are Lowell and Joe Greer, Jonathan Creed Lanham, Jonathan Cameron Lanham, Randy Montgomery and Jerry Taylor.
Honorary bearers are Troy Montgomery, Scott Garrett, and Doug Sallee.
Memorial contributions are greatly appreciated to Walden Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses.
