Jimmy Flynn, 88, of Lancaster, passed away Friday, April 4, 2025 at Parkview Manor Assisted Living in Danville, KY. He was born on January 5, 1937 in Burnside, KY to the late Carrol Flynn and Ida Keith Flynn. Jimmy worked at Taulbee Wholesale and H.T. Hackney for many years, as well as Spurlin Funeral Home in his later years. Jimmy loved being outside, he enjoyed farming and mowing. He was a lifelong University of Kentucky Basketball fan. In his spare time, he enjoyed coaching baseball at JC Ballpark. Jimmy was a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and Song Leader at Good Hope Baptist Church. Surviving is his loving wife of 69 years of marriage, Wanda McQuerry Flynn of Lancaster; a grandson, Jameson Flynn (Bethany) of Lancaster; three great grandchildren, Presley Harper Flynn, Skylar Molen Teague (Logan), and Mayson Molen and one great great grandchild, Wyatt Ivy Teague; and a brother in law, Jerry Daniels of Florida. Along with his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by a son, Jimbo Flynn and three sisters, Sue Daniels, Carolyn Cunningham, and Elizabeth Wilcox. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Baker officiating. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service at Paint Lick Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jerry Daniels, Shane McQuerry, Bryon McQuerry, Doug Simpson, John Manuel McQuerry, Keith Castle, and Robbie Castle. Honorary pallbearers are Deacon’s of Good Hope Baptist Church.
