Traffic step leads to drug charges

Deputies with the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office conducted a drug investigation that led to a traffic stop in Danville. During the stop, deputies say the subject gave a false name. It was learned through investigation that the subject had two active warrants and was also operating on a suspended/revoked operators license, according to the sheriff’s office.

K9 Bruno was deployed alerting to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. Deputies then conducted a search of the vehicle. Seized from the vehicle were approximately 3 ounces of Heroin, 3.5 grams of methamphetamine, baggies and a weigh scale.

Jovon Seatts of Lexington was arrested and charged with the following:

• Trafficking in controlled substance 1st offense (Heroin)

• Trafficking in controlled substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense – (> or = 2 grams Methamphetamine)

• Giving officer false identifying information

• Drug paraphernalia buy/possess

• Operating on a suspended/revoked operators license

• No registration receipt

• No registration plates

Seatts was served with a parole violation warrant along with an indictment warrant out of Jessamine County in which he was charged with the following:

• Robbery 1st Degree

• Assault 2nd Degree

• Persistent Felony Offender II

• Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon

• Possession of Marijuana

Suspect charged with evading, gun possession

Deputies with the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office went to a residence on White Oak Road just out of Junction City in attempt to serve an arrest warrant. Deputies located the wanted subject fleeing out the back door holding a white towel. The subject made his way around the side of the residence to the front where he hid the towel under a bush. Deputies were able to effect the arrest with no further incident. Located in the white towel was a loaded .22 caliber pistol, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies learned through investigation that the subject is a convicted felon.

Donnie Hogue of Junction City was arrested and charged with the following:

• Fleeing or Evading Police, 2nd Degree

• Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon

Hogue was also arrested for the failure to appear warrant out of Boyle County District Court.
