Boyle County announces road paving list

The Fiscal Court approved the discretionary road fund paving list for the 2023-24 year at their meeting on June 13.

The total cost for all roads is $689,944. Roads that will be paved are as follows:

• Old Springfield Road from US 150 to 3,300 feet east ($81,852)

• Oscar Bradley – pave entire road ($94,164)

• East Knob Lick – pave entire road ($24,738)

• Waterworks Road – pave one mile from the end of the road ($109,000)

• Penns Store Road – pave entire road ($21,432)

• Yates Road – pave entire road ($59,622)

• Martin Rosel – pave entire road ($32,718)

• Mansfield Road – pave entire road ($29,184)

• Ivy Road – pave entire road (38,418)

• Dry Fork – 1.04 miles from US 150 then pave 2,750 feet ($39,900)

• Wards Branch #1 – from Highway 37 to the bridge ($33,060)

• Wards Branch #2 – 1.1 miles from Highway 68 then pave 3,000 feet ($49,590)

• Godbey Lane – from Westber Road pave 1,500 feet ($25,080)

• Carpenters Creek – 1,350 feet from Highway 37 then pave 1,000 feet; then 0.87 miles in, pave 500 feet ($24,738)

• South Buster Pike – from Highway 33 pave 1,600 feet ($26,448)

Judge Executive Trille Bottom said that she, magistrates, and Road Supervisor Roger Johnson all decided what roads needed to be repaved. She said the ones on the list are ones they believe are the most in need of repair.

Bottom said their budget from the state is $738,530, and that they left room for any unexpected costs or rises in the cost of materials.

Johnson said crews have already started on Old Springfield Road.
