Bertha Florell Yates Harmon, 95, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023. Bertha was born in Boyle County, Kentucky February 22, 1928, one of seven children of the late William and Ethel Reece Yates. She was the widower of her beloved husband, John C. B. “Jack” Harmon who died in 1987.
Bertha was a strong woman of God. She was a member of Perryville Baptist Church for 70 years. Bertha also managed the ASCS Office for many years. In addition to praising God and working, Bertha enjoyed gardening, working on her farm, and spending time with her family.
Survivors are two children, Wanda (William) Sprinkle and Peggy Edgington, a brother, Glenn Yates, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jack, Bertha was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Harmon, and five siblings.
The funeral service will be 4:00 p.m., Friday, July 21, 2023 at Walden Funeral Home with Bro. Josh Gruneison and Aaron Hackworth officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest cemetery in Perryville. Visitation will be at Walden Funeral Home Friday, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Brad Harmon, Caleb Harmon, Lee Jackson, Billy Hicks, Tony Hicks, and Mike Harmon
Honorary bearers will be members of the Bethany Bohannon Sunday School Class from Perryville Baptist Church.
