NEWS REPORT

Downtown Downbeat comes back again Aug. 3. Hundreds of patrons have gathered for each first Thursday event that features live music. From rock to soul, many musicians and genres have been featured at the Weisiger Park Stage, and August will feature Moonlight Mile.

Hailing from Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Moonlight Mile was nominated for a Lexi music award in 2023 and brings an edge to country music, with nods to rock and roll and other forms embedded within their own brand of American roots music. Fresh off a recent performance at the prestigious Master Musician festival, Moonlight mile is a four-piece acoustic band featuring guitar, mandolin, fiddle and bass with an alternative bluegrass sound that they refer to as Grassicana.
