This week’s featured pets are Cookie and Rhett. Their pawsome volunteer Shelly interviewed them, and here’s what they had to say:

“Hi there. My name is Cookie, and I am a young female, mixed breed. I lost my family and was recently brought to the humane society, so I am still adjusting to kennel life. Since this is a new environment, I may appear timid when you first meet me, but I am as sweet as my name implies. I love getting many pets, and even though I am still shy, I may protest with a soft whine if you stop. I have already had the opportunity to meet some kids while I have been here, and I love to lay in the grass with them while they stroke my head.

“As I get more comfortable, I will let you see my playful side. I am very curious about the outdoors and love to sniff around with my adorable long snout. If I catch sight of something in the air or the grass, I use my long slender legs to trot around gracefully. I am looking for a family that could provide me with a safe space and loving home where my whole sweet personality can shine. “

“Hi. My name is Rhett. I could not be more excited to meet my forever family, which you can probably tell by my uncontrollable wiggles when I meet you. I am a mix-breed male with a shiny black and brown coat, estimated at two years old, but I have not lost a bit of my puppy face or energy.

“I love to bound around outside with my big, white-dipped paws while my floppy ears flap around in the wind. As much as I love to zoom around, my number one priority is to smother you with all the kisses I can and not leave your side. When I finally get tired from all my playing, I love to snuggle, chew on bones, and just be as close to you as possible. I’m looking for a family who can embrace all my energy. I am a quick learner and am already mastering basic commands, and I would love to continue my training with my new family.”
