Community meetings set for comprehensive plan

The Danville-Boyle County Planning & Zoning Commission is conducting a Community Survey and hosting a series of meetings in order to update the Boyle County Comprehensive Plan, which will provide a vision for how the community will grow and develop over the next 20 years. Click here to access the survey.
The meetings are for people to learn about what the comprehensive plan is, how they hope to change it, and how to bring comments about it to their local government. The comprehensive plan is used by Planning and Zoning. It usually contains a map of future land use for the entire county, and lays the foundation for zoning codes on things like subdivisions, agricultural land, or industrial development.
County residents are also welcome to complete a survey in relation to the comprehensive plan. The survey includes questions about what residents would like to see in terms of residential development, economic development, transportation improvements, and other things.
