A small-business pop-up shop will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Showroom in Danville.

The Showroom will host more than 45 small business vendors. Each vendor has provided an item for door prizes. To get a ticket to win, you bring a non-perishable food to be donated to the Garrard County Food Pantry.

The event was organized by owners of Bucket List Tours Patty Francis and Betty Moffett.

“We have been doing these kind of events and were frustrated they weren’t focused supporting on small businesses without a brick and mortar,” Francis said. “We decided to do it ourselves with the focus of small businesses, and boosting the economy of the community. It has taken off like wildfire, and we are planning more for next year.”

Francis and Moffett wanted to bring new small businesses to Danville and to help businesses increase their online customer base.

“We have places from 19 cities coming to Danville to showcase their ware,” Francis said. “It should be a great day, we have four food trucks. More than 15 vendors are going to be set up outside. We have really tried to make a community-involved event.”

This is the first time that Moffet and Francis have hosted a small business pop up themselves. With the positive response, there are at least four more events planned next year with two being in Danville.

“We welcome everyone to come out and look at these new vendors and support small business. Most importantly you can support the Garrard County Food Pantry,” Francis said.
