One of our amazing items on display that night will be a University of Kentucky Basketball quilt (made by Camp Horsin’Around co-founder Phyllis Cronin). The quilt is a great piece honoring UK Basketball history and the 1978 NCAA Title team. It’s autographed by the late legendary Coach Joe B. Hall and star players such as Jack “Goose” Givens, Kyle Macy and more. The quilt will be raffled ($50 per ticket, only 1,000 tickets sold). Go to camphorsinaround.org/raffle for more on the quilt raffle. Raffle bids will kick off the day of the Camp Out.

The Camp Out is sponsored by Mathis Flooring, McBrayer LLC, Todds Road Stumblers, Ephraim McDowell Health and Central Bank.

The camp is located near Perryville, with 191 acres of land in Mercer and Boyle counties. The site has rolling hills, a small river and space for hiking, fishing, swimming, boating, rock wall climbing and other activities for campers. Children who benefit from camp programming include those with serious and chronic medical conditions and special needs – cancer, autism, blood disorders, diabetes, orthopedic/neuromuscular conditions – as well as children coping with the loss of a loved one. Camping groups provide counselors, volunteers, medical staff and supervisors for their camp session.
