Sara Jean Divine, 87, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023. Sara was born in Perryville, Kentucky August 8, 1936, daughter of the late Alfred and Lizzie Cocanougher Whitehouse. She was the widower of her beloved husband, Daniel L. Divine who passed away in 2014.
Sara was a strong woman of God. She was a member of Doctor’s Fork Baptist Church where she played the piano and organ for many years. Sara was also a proud member of the Red Hats. She was also a retired secretary for Boyle County High school. Most of all, Sara loved her family.
Survivors include, one daughter, Kim Divine, 2 grandchildren who she raised as her own, Jason (Ashley) Moody and Cami Gibson, 4 great grandchildren, Haylee Kelty, Kai’shea Gibson, KaShaun Gibson, and Case Moody.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sara was preceded in death by a son, Kent Divine.
The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Walden Funeral Home with Bro. John Lane officiating. Visitation will be at Walden Funeral Home Saturday, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
