Bobby Roney, 88, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023. Bobby was born in Perryville, Kentucky May 8, 1935, a son of the late Rupert and Evelyn Dean Roney.
Bobby was a graduate of Perryville High School and worked for 47 years at Coleman’s Lumber Yard in Harrodsburg. He was a member of Perryville Community Church and enjoyed coon hunting, Mules, UK Basketball, spending time with his grandchildren and sitting under the shade tree watching traffic pass by.
Survivors include two sons, Terry Lynn Roney and Perry Glynn (Hazel) Roney, 7 grandchildren, Whitley Morton, Deanna Roney, John Roney, Wesley Roney, Jessie Roney, Leslie Roney, Amanda Lynch, 11 great-grandchildren and a brother, Jackie Roney.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Terrence Robert Roney, David Wayne Roney, and two siblings, Godbey Roney and Annelle Collier.
The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday November 11, 2023 at Walden Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Lester officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., also at Walden Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be John, Wesley, Mark, Darin, Nick, Roney, Steve Moss, Terry Young, and Steve Moss.
Honorary Bearers will be Stuart Moss, Sandy Lowery, and Robbie Roney
