There are two new district administrators beginning their employment with the Danville Independent School District on Tuesday, Jan. 16: Nic Senak, Chief Finance Officer, and Cameron Jackson, Director of Pupil Personnel.

Senak is the DISD’s new chief finance officer (CFO).

For the past two and a half years, he has worked for Jessamine County Schools as the Grant and Budget Coordinator for the district. Prior to that, he was a Salvation Army officer for six years. He ran operations with his wife in Keene, New Hampshire, for five of those years, and was a finance officer in Syracuse, New York, for a year.

“Over the last two years, I have found that I am truly passionate about public education,” he said. “When I was approached about the open position at DISD, it was an opportunity to push my passion further. Despite being relatively new to public education, I am excited about the challenge of being a true asset to Danville Schools.”

Senak said that between his experience in the JCS and the Salvation Army, he has been preparing himself to be able to provide financial insight to fund essential programs.

“Education is arguably the most essential program, and having the opportunity to support and guide education to full financial wellness is a mission that I am always ready to take on,” he said.

Senak and his wife, Christine, have two boys: Jonah, 6, and Caleb, 4. Christine works as the director of communications for Asbury Theological Seminary.

“I am passionate about three things; public education, family, and golf,” Senak said. “If anyone ever stops by my office, you will see many pictures of my family and my golfing adventures.”

Jackson is the new director of pupil personnel (DPP) for the DISD.

He said that he wanted to work in the DISD because of the district’s values.

“I’m attracted to Danville Schools for its commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment,” Jackson said. “The emphasis on ‘success for all’ and community engagement aligns with my values, and I’m excited about contributing to the schools’ positive impact.”

His former role is as DPP for Fleming County Schools, a position he has held since January 2021. He is also a former principal at Russellville Middle School and former assistant principal at Russellville High School, among his other past work experience.

“In my recent role as director of pupil personnel, I have successfully led a team in implementing innovative educational programs to ensure the success for all students,” he said. “Currently, I serve on the Kentucky Department of Pupil Personnel state board and on the Kentucky Kentucky Association of School Administrators DEIB committee.”

Jackson said his work “has involved strategic planning and collaboration, providing a solid foundation for the DPP role at Danville Schools.” He said this has honed his skills in team leadership and student achievement programs.

He said he is also excited to bring his family into the Danville community. He has two sons, ages 5 and 2.
