Sally Hazel (Wallin) Burke, 91, of Stanford, passed away Saturday, February 18, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Hospital in Danville. She was the widow of Paris Burke, Sr. who preceded her in death on March 6, 2005.
Sally was born in Crab Orchard, Ky. on April 16, 1925, a daughter of the late Fred and Amy Isabelle (Wren) Wallin.
She was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday school for many years and was very active in the church. Sally loved her family dearly.
Survivors include her daughter, Brenda and husband Ray Denny of Crab Orchard; daughter, Shirley and husband Terry Weber of Nicholasville, daughter, diane and husband David Wayne Edwards of Hustonville; son, Paris Burke, Jr. and wife Liz of Stanford; daughter, Robin Jackson of Stanford; brother, John Wallin of Crab Orchard; sister, Evelyn Robinson of Middletown, Ohio; sister, Ella Proffit of Stanford; 12 grandchildren, Melissa Tillett, Micheal Edwards, Rebecca Edwards, Jenny Hall, Chris and Matthew Cope, Jeff Weber, Andy Denny, Sarah Carrier, Amy Brown, Lesley Floro, Jeremy St. Lawrence and Hailey Burke; 23 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren also survive.
In addition to her husband and parents, Sally was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandy Kay Burke; sisters, Lucille Berry, Mary Jackson and Elsie Elam; brothers, Louis, Tom and Ernest Wallin; and granddaughter, Fran Clark.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ken Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 9 p.m. on Wednesday at McKnight Funeral Home.
