Woody Randolph

Deward Elwood “Woody” Randolph, 81, of Moreland passed away at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 6, 2024. Born August 2, 1942, he was the son of the late Deward and Mary Price Randolph. Woody was a graduate of Hustonville High School. He was a Sgt. in the KY ARMY National Guard and was retired from GTE where he had worked as a lineman.
He loved farming and raising tobacco and managed to turn his “city-wife” into a “farm wife”. His wife, kids, and grandkids were the most important thing in his life. Woody is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Jenkins Randolph; son, Dr. Shane (Tammy) Randolph of Hustonville; daughters, Kim (Cecil “Junior”) Dillard of Moreland and Jennifer (Carroll) Smith of Hustonville; 10 grandchildren: Joshua (Heather) Sallee, Holly (Lyndon) Gaither, Jonathon (Kaitlyn) Randolph, Jacob Randolph, Tucker (Anna Jones) Smith, Hannah (Cameron) Honaker, Courtney (Jordan) Elliott, Cecilia Dillard, Merranda Dillard, and Laiton (Drew Crawford) Dillard; and 10 great grandchildren: Lucas Sallee (who shared a birthday with his Pa), Taylor Sallee, Tyde Gaither, Lynley Gaither, NoraKate Timberlake, Mayhan Timberlake, Huxlee Honaker, Porter Honaker, Miles Hamilton, and Mercedes Hillard; and one more expected in the near future.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, CB and Billy Randolph; sisters, Nancy Thompson and Elizabeth Walls; and grandson, Spencer Timberlake.
Visitation is 5-8 pm, Monday, April 8, 2024, at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 11 am, Tuesday with Pastor Jonathan Grizzell officiating. Pallbearers are Joshua Sallee, Jonathon Randolph, Lyndon Gaither, Jacob Randolph, Tucker Smith, and Lucas Sallee. Honorary pallbearers are Neal Johnson, Tanner Johnson, Trent Johnson, Eddie Johnson, Larry Thompson, Gary Thompson, and Greg Thompson. Burial is in Hustonville Cemetery. Memorial Contributions are suggested to Heritage Hospice, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or Hedgeville Baptist Church.
