CASA of the Bluegrass staff will be present, as well as some current volunteers, to help answer questions. The next Pre-Service Training session will be focused for prospective advocates located in Boyle and Mercer counties; however, once a sworn CASA, an advocate can serve any active case under CASA of the Bluegrass’ appointed, regardless of location.

Snacks and light refreshments will be provided. If you would like more information about this event or becoming a CASA advocate, please contact Casey Atwood at casey@casaofthebluegrass.org.

CASA of the Bluegrass utilizes community volunteers to act as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs). CASA Volunteers are appointed to serve children who have entered the Family Court System because of abuse, neglect, or dependency. They advocate for the best interest of children by gathering information of the child’s situation and offering recommendations concerning the child’s needs and future. Appointed and empowered directly by the courts, CASA Volunteers advocate for a child’s best interest by providing critical information to judges about the child’s needs and well-being to help the judge make the most well-informed decision.
