Sammy “Bo” Caldwell, 72, peacefully departed this world on August 6, 2024. He was born on January 30, 1952, to Samuel and Norma Jean Caldwell in Danville, KY. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Natalie Grace Caldwell.
Sammy was a 1970 graduate of Danville High School, and a dedicated Meter Technician at Kentucky Utilities, where he found fulfillment in his work. Besides his family, his great love was music, whether playing with friends or listening to records, playlists, or CDs, music was always present in his life. Sammy enjoyed supporting the Boyle County Band and spent his free time hunting for treasures in antique malls. His love for Secretariat, the legendary racehorse, knew no bounds.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Joan Caldwell, his children Stephanie Shawn (Rob) Cloyd and Ben (Kasey) Caldwell, as well as his brother, David Caldwell and his grandchildren Ayden Samuel Cloyd, Delaney Gayle Cloyd, and Avery Li Caldwell, and numerous cousins. Sammy’s memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and everyone who knew him.
A Funeral Service will be at 3 p.m., Monday, August 12, 2024, at Stith Funeral Home in Danville with Rev. Greg Hancock officiating. Visitation will be from 1 – 3 p.m., Monday, August 12, 2024, prior to the service.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society.
Though he may be no longer physically present, Sammy’s spirit will live on in music, the memories he created, and the love he shared with those around him. May he rest in peace.
